DWC Wine Dinner at the Spicy Duck on Friday the 22nd August, 2025 was a roaring success, contrary to the prediction of Pres. Mukul Manku, who did not even want to suggest it to the members lest they reject it outright, till I coaxed him into it. The food, ambience, and service of the restaurant known for its Vietnamese cuisine, was outstanding. Even wines from Monika Enterprises were loved by the members. Everything went smoothly and I paid the bill for 34 members with my credit card. We even forgot the agony of the huge unexpected traffic jam which had earlier engulfed the venue at The Taj Palace.
However, on reaching home, members including me were surprised, though not shocked, at the cryptic but glitzy message on the WhatsApp group of the Delhi Wine Club from Manku: ‘Dear all. An Update from my side. Our son has now relocated overseas and for the balance of this year we plan to be with him. View this, I shall not be continuing as President DWC hereafter. Thanks to all of you for your support, encouragement and appreciation at all times. Now I move on to focus on my own wine journey. Best wishes to the next President and to Delhi Wine Club. With this the curtains fell for the 4th President of the Delhi Wine Club- after Subhash Arora, Sourish Bhattacharyya, R Parthiban and Mukul Manku. We record the hard work and efforts put by the former President in organising the events. Our next President, Sumita Lahiri, takes over in January, 2026. Until then, I will be the caretaker (President) of the club with help from the former Presidents. The Show Must and Will go on.

Dear friends, Welcome to Delhi Wine Club
Hello everyone. In my first message in 2025, I look back with a lot of satisfaction and pride at the fabulous wine events we conducted in the last year. In 2024, Delhi Wine Club held 11 Wine Dinners and maximum of these were at various 5 Star Hotels in Delhi. This year too, we have started with an exceptional first event, which was in a collaborative format, that of a wine dinner at Residence of Ambassador of Chile to India – the same is posted on this site. With a great start like this, I’m sure that we would hold many successful wine events in the months to come. Look forward to your continued support and blessings. Cheers !!.
